4. What are the objectives of a collaborative approach to audit?

Through collaboration and sharing practice between NHS and social care organisations and their learning environments, the audit process will:

identify the strengths and potential of organisations and their practice learning environments to support learning
enable joint ownership of the audit action plan by organisations, their learning environments and the universities.
streamline the process of audit within organisations and their learning environments by adopting an inter-professional approach
provide formal feedback for organisations and their learning environments to enable quality enhancement and the sharing of good practice
satisfy the requirements of relevant regulatory bodies and contribute to the streamlining of quality mechanisms for practice based learning by the Department of Health.
