2. What is a practice learning environment?

In this context the term practice learning environment refers to any health or social care setting, service, or department where learning occurs, for example the learning that takes place within a practice environment may include:

learning of knowledge, skills and values that students attain whilst on their placement / attachment as part of a specific programme.
personal development of staff as life long learners through advancement of their knowledge, practice and skills
learning gained by organisations and services by seeking the opinions of people who access services (patients / clients)
